Born in Nagoya in 1952, she graduated in 1978 from the Department of Painting at the Tokyo
University of the Arts, specializing in Japanese painting.
After completing her master’s degree in 1980, she moved to Italy, living in Florence until 1985,
where she deepened her engagement with the Renaissance artistic tradition and explored concepts
of space in her artistic research.
She later established her base in Milan, which remains the center of her practice to this day. Her
work focuses on the relationship between space and time, aiming to make visible the profound
connection between these two elements. Through the use of materials that reflect and transmit light
and through installation-like compositions that engage the surrounding space, her works go beyond
materiality and become metaphors for the process through which reality and existence emerge.
Her experimental approach to materials and artistic investigation extends beyond formal concerns,
connecting deeply with an anthropological and spiritual exploration of the meaning of human
existence and the ways in which humanity has represented and shaped itself. In this way, her works
